Teaching & Tutoring Services
Unless you’ve made arrangements to meet with me in person, my teaching and tutoring services are offered online through Zoom. A computer, laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone are needed for an effective online session through Zoom. However, if a smartphone is all you have available, I will do my very best to make the online Zoom session as productive and helpful as possible.
High-Quality Tutoring
In each tutoring session I bring a Master+ education, 100% effort, great care and concern for my students, and the experience, critical thinking and problem-solving skills developed by 10+ years of direct instruction. I listen intently to my students to understand their unique learning needs, and I use humor and various engagement strategies to keep students’ attention and make learning fun.

The 1-hour session provides more time for goal-setting and teaching helpful study skills related to learning the content (e.g. studying for tests, effective note-taking, etc.). As with the 30-minute session, during the 1-hour tutoring session, I take time to listen to the student in order to identify the specific areas in which the student is struggling. Together, we prioritize the learning targets most essential to their content understanding and overall success in the course they are taking. I use my knowledge, experience and various teaching techniques to provide direct instruction related to current assignments and projects and/or preparation for upcoming quizzes and tests.

In these value-packed packages, I provide the same high-quality tutoring but with more sessions at a reduced rate. I use my Master+ education, 7+ years of lesson planning, and 10+ years of direct instruction (including 3 years of K-12 substitute teaching) to consistently deliver high-quality tutoring sessions that address the unique needs of my students in ways that are engaging, enjoyable and effective. The increased number of sessions allows for helpful follow-up to reinforce learning and greater student accountability in meeting learning goals.

Individual classes provide one-on-one instruction that is more "tailor-made" for the individual. I assess the student's ability level, prepare and teach interactive lessons, monitor student progress, and communicate that progress with parents.
